Life of a Trilobite from Extinction … and Beyond

Bambi Harmon is a keen fossil hunter and collector whose favorite is the trilobite. She will be presenting: “Life of a Trilobite from Extinction … and Beyond.”

Our August club meeting will be held on Thursday August 11th 6:30 – 8:30 pm. We are very pleased to have club member Bambi Harmon as a guest speaker this month who, in addition to being an accomplished cactus and succulent gardener, is a keen fossil hunter and collector whose favorite is the trilobite. She will be presenting: “Life of a Trilobite from Extinction … and Beyond.”

Bambi writes: “My passion for trilobites began in my hometown of Cincinnati. I joined the local fossil club “Cincinnati Dry Dredgers” and the Greater Cincinnati rock and mineral club. The first field trip I attended was on a trilobite collecting trip to nearby Brookville Lake, Indiana. It didn’t take long to find my first trilobite (a partial). I was bitten!!! Now almost 50 years later, the passion still exists. My hope is to share that passion and enthusiasm with others”.

At this meeting we will have a plant raffle, a very short business meeting and a social hour. Guests are welcome!

We will meet as usual upstairs at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation Congregation (UUC), located at 536 Ouray Ave, Grand Junction 81501 (click here for map). The doors will be open at 6:00 pm.
