Mixed-media sculptor Pavia Justinian, the Mesa County Libraries’ 970West Artist in Residence, has scheduled a variety of workshops for adults, teens and children throughout her residency. Justinian’s award-winning work is featured in public art programs throughout Colorado and in private collections across the Southwest. She has been featured in regional radio and print publications, received art commissions from the City of Grand Junction and private collectors, and has been invited to participate in numerous exhibitions. Justinian apprenticed with sculptor Dave Davis. Justinian’s use of unusual and novel media, including salvaged chrome, cement and rusted old metals, is perhaps the most evident connection to her mentor. Her work can be seen at www.paviajustinian.com. For a list of offered classes and to preregister, visit the events calendar at www.mesacountylibraries.org or call 243-4442.
