The Museums of Western Colorado and Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra launch the outdoor concert season on Friday, May 19 when Opera Colorado’s Young Artists present an evening of arias, ensembles and a performance of Donizetti’s comic opera “The Elixir of Love.” The performance is scheduled for 7 p.m., with admission $25 per person for limited seating in the Cross Orchard’s Historic Packing Shed/Barn. “This is a concert-style experience not to be missed,” says Museums of Western Colorado Executive Director Peter Booth. “These five young people will perform as if on stage, but without the use of sets and costumes, thereby creating an intimate and engaging experience. This presentation is designed to entertain and educate, offering background information on each piece and end with a Q&A session providing the audience unique accessibility and insight into the world of opera.” Cross Orchards Historic Site is located at 3073 F Road (Patterson Road) in Grand Junction. Tickets to the May 19 performance may be reserved online at www.museumofwesternco.org or by calling 970-242-0971 x2212.
